Plagiarism Policy

The Zaria Sociological Journal maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism and academic misconduct. All submitted manuscripts are subject to rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced detection software.

Definition of Plagiarism:

  • Use of another person's ideas, processes, results, or words without proper attribution
  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication
  • Inadequate paraphrasing or quotation
  • Fabrication or falsification of data

Plagiarism Threshold:

  • Below 25%: Acceptable similarity, no action required.
  • 26–45%: Manuscript will be sent back to the author for correction and resubmission.
  • Above 45%: Manuscript will be rejected automatically.
  • Published articles found to contain plagiarism will be retracted
Detection Process: We use industry-standard plagiarism detection software including Turnitin, iThenticate, and other advanced tools to ensure the originality of all submissions.
